HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC picked up a run in both the first and second innings to hold a 2-0 lead before the Engineers manufactured six runs in the third to take the advantage. The inning was highlighted by a double by senior first baseman Nick Aiello (Freehold, N.J.) that plated two runs.

• Both offenses showed up in the fourth frame, with RIC grabbing four runs and tying the game up, 6-6, when freshman outfielder Daniel Trzepacz (Mont Vernon, N.H.) smacked a two-run double of his own.

• MIT would not let the tie go on for long as the hosts struck for five more runs in the fourth to build an 11-6 advantage. Aiello had another RBI in the inning.

• With the Anchormen down by one, 11-10, heading into the ninth inning, RIC plated four to take the 14-11 lead. Senior third baseman Jarrad Grossguth (Coventry, R.I.) knocked in two in the stanza.

• MIT would get those runs back in the home half of the ninth and tie the game up at 14 before the game was called due to darkness.

• Wardwell led the way for the visitors, going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI.

• Senior outfielder Joey Coro (North Providence, R.I.) went 2-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBI.

• Aiello knocked in three of the 14 Engineer runs and scored three more himself in a 2-for-4 effort at the plate.

• RIC sophomore pitcher Terry Murray (Norfolk, Mass.) pitched well out of the bullpen, tossing 4.2 innings, striking out six batters and allowing three unearned runs.
