Providence, R.I.—Junior guard
Antonia Corsinetti (Johnston, R.I.) scored a game-high 12 points as No. 1-seeded Rhode Island College advanced to the semifinals of the 2022 Little East Women's Basketball Championship with a 70-41 win vs. No. 8-seeded Western Connecticut at the Murray Center on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first half was tight, with RIC leading by just three, 25-22, at the break. Western senior center
Katelyn Fanning (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) led all scorers with eight points in the half.
• The visitors held a one-point, 28-27, lead, on a freshman forward
Alyssa Virtue (Groton, Conn.) turnaround jump with 8:12 left in the third quarter.
• The lead would prove to be short-lived as RIC ripped off a 23-5 run to put the game out of reach. Corsinetti netted nine of her 12 points during that stretch.
• A three-pointer from RIC senior guard
Maire Gallagher (Worcester, Mass.) with a minute remaining in the game gave the hosts their biggest lead of 31 points, 70-39.
• Corsinetti also pulled down five boards.
• Freshman forward
Angelina Nardolillo (Hinsdale, N.H.) had 11 points and eight rebounds, half of which were on the offensive glass.
• Junior guard
Jeniyah Jones (Randolph, Mass.) had 10 points, five rebounds and four steals in 19 minutes of action.
• Fanning finished with 10 on the night to lead WestConn.
