Jacobs Leads Anchormen Past Plymouth State on Senior Day

Providence, R.I.—Senior guard Keyshaun Jacobs (Lynn, Mass.) joined the RIC Men's Basketball 1,000 career point club as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team stomped Plymouth State, 98-84, in Little East action at The Murray Center on Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS
Rhode Island College 98, Plymouth State 84
Rhode Island College (14-11, 7-9 LEC)
Plymouth State (14-11, 9-7 LEC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Jacobs was honored, along with his family before the game on Senior Day.

• With just seconds left in the first half, Jacobs hit a free throw to climb over 1,000 points for his RIC career. He went over 1,000 career points (combined with his stint at Morehouse College) at Plymouth State on Jan. 31. Those free throws put RIC up, 47-43, at the end of the first half.

• The Panthers would stick around in the second half, but the Anchormen would take a 10-point, 85-75, lead with three minutes remaining after a Jacobs trey. RIC would remain comfortably in the lead and convert their own free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

• Jacobs had 31 points, four assists and three rebounds.

• Junior guard Shion Darby (Peekskill, N.Y.) also netted 31 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists.

• Sophomore center Ousmane Kourouma (Woonsocket, R.I.) registered his seventh double-double on the season with a 14-point, 12-rebound performance.

• PSU had five student-athletes register double-digit in points, with sophomore guard Kevin Henry (Stratham, N.H.) leading the way with 17. He also led the visitors with five rebounds.
