Izabelle Booth (Newport, R.I.) netted a career-high 23 points as the Rhode Island College women's basketball team defeated Bridgewater State, 85-78, at the Tinsley Center on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC jumped out to an 11-0 lead and held BSU scoreless until 3:57 in the first quarter. Those would be the only points the Bears would score in the frame as the Anchorwomen led, 18-2, after 10 minutes.

• The Bears would pick up the pace in the second quarter, but RIC lapped them in score, hand headed into halftime with a 40-19 advantage.

• Bridgewater State  got back into the game as RIC allowed 30 points to the hosts, but the visitors still led, 61-49, after 30 minutes of game action. Booth had seven points in the third quarter alone, while BSU sophomore forwardÂ
Kylie Grassi (Plymouth, Mass.) had 14 points in the stanza.

Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.) each had multiple clutch buckets to stave off the Bears and hand them their first loss of the season.

• Booth added eight rebounds and three assists to her career night. Corsinetti scored 12 points, while Maybury contributed 15 points, six rebounds and five assists.

• Bradbury had 15 of her 17 points in the last frame alone, while Grassi notched 22 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
