THE BASICS
Fitchburg State 58, Rhode Island College 48
Fitchburg State (1-4)
Rhode Island College (1-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC took its first lead, 12-11, with 14:02 remaining in the first half after a layup by junior center Ousmane Kourouma (Woonsocket, R.I.).

• FSU would take the lead back moments later and hold a one-point, 29-28, advantage going into the half.

• Junior forward Mitchel Noresca (East Providence, R.I.) made a jumper at the 17:22 mark in the second half to give the Anchormen a 36-35 lead. It would prove to be the last lead the Anchormen would hold for the rest of the night.

• Over the next six and a half minutes, the Falcons went on a 13-2 run, highlighted by five points from sophomore guard Frederick Siayor (Worcester, Mass.). RIC shot 1-for-12 over that time span.

• The visitors would keep RIC trailing by double-digits for most of the second half en route to their first win in 2022-23.

• Rivera led the team in scoring, while also contributing six rebounds and three blocks.

• Kourouma flirted with a triple-double, cashing in 11 points and pulling down 14 boards, while blocking seven shots and swiping three steals on defense.

• Siayor led the charge for the visitors with 17 points, while junior and senior big men Quincy Taylor (Boston, Mass.) and Dayne Allen (Revere, Mass.) each recorded double-doubles with 11 points and 17 rebounds and 10 points and 15 rebounds, respectively.

• With 48 points tonight, RIC had its lowest scoring output since the team's, 75-36, loss to Amherst on Jan. 30, 2018.
