Castleton, Vt.--Senior guard Keyshaun Jacobs (Lynn, Mass.) dropped a game-high 36 points as Rhode Island College defeated Castleton, 77-69, in Little East men's basketball action on Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchormen lead by four, 38-34, at halftime.
 
• Castleton retook the lead, 50-49, with 11 minutes to go in the second half thanks to a field goal from sophomore guard Justin Schwarzbeck (Newburgh, N.Y.). RIC would outpace the Spartans, 28-19, over the remaining time, with 13 of those points coming from Jacobs, to secure the win.
 
• Jacobs also had five assists and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line.
 
• Sophomore guard Damian Tucker (Boynton Beach, Fla.) had 13 points, three rebounds and four assists off the bench.
 
• Sophomore center Ousmane Kourouma (Woonsocket, R.I.) hauled in a game-high 14 rebounds and notched three blocked shots.
 
• Castleton graduate student Oluwadare Sowunmi (Harlem, N.Y.) registered a team-high 22 points for the hosts.

• RIC shot 42 percent (27-for-65) from the field, 38 percent (13-for-34) from downtown and 83 percent (10-for-12) from the free throw line.
 
• The Spartans shot 48 percent (28-for-59) from the field, 38 percent (6-for-16) from long range and 78 percent (7-for-9) from the charity stripe.
