Willimantic, Conn.--Sophomore guard Jordan Riley (Windsor, Conn.) netted a team-high 20 points as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team fell at Eastern Connecticut, 80-69, in Little East action played at Geissler Gymnasium on Monday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a close first half, Eastern Connecticut outscored RIC, 44-35, in the second half to defeat the Anchormen, who were playing their first game since Dec. 18.
 
• Riley had 20 points, two rebounds and two steals.
 
• Junior guard Shion Darby (Peekskill, N.Y.) had 18 points and a team-leading four assists.
 
• Sophomore center Ousmane Kourouma (Woonsocket, R.I.) just missed out on a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing nine rebounds.
 
• Eastern was led by junior Meikyle Murray (Bronx, N.Y.), who registered season-highs in every statistical category besides steals, highlighted by his 31 points, 11 boards and six dimes.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC shot 44 percent (24-for-55) from the field, 30 percent (3-for-10) from downtown and 72 percent (18-for-25) from the free throw line.
 
• The Warriors shot 43 percent (31-for-72) from the field, 35 percent (10-for-29) from behind the three-point arc and 67 percent (8-for-12) from the charity stripe.
