Westfield, Mass.—Freshman Cameron Mello (Somerset, Mass.) finished 34^th to lead the Rhode Island College men's golf team to an eighth place (11 teams) finish at Westfield State's Brett Williamson Invitational on Thursday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• The event was held at Tekoa Country Club and was a par 71. There were 55 golfers at the event.
 
• The Anchormen totaled a team score of 367 (+83).
 
• Eastern Connecticut took home first place with a score of 311 (+27).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Mello shot a 90 (+19) to finish 34^th.
 
• Freshman David Liau (Hilton Head, S.C.) finished 35^th with a 91 (+20).
 
• Freshman Shane Mello (Somerset, Mass.) and senior Matt Malo (Cranston, R.I.) finished tied for 37^th with a 93 (+22).
 
• Junior Nate Chhim (Tiverton, R.I.) finished tied for 45^th with a 98 (+27).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Emmanuel and Dean at Valley Country Club on Wednesday, Sept. 29 (11 a.m.) at Valley Country Club.
