Men's Tennis Blanks Spartans to Complete Season Sweep

Castleton, Vt.--Junior Alex Bourque (North Smithfield, R.I.) and senior Ethan Hoy (West Warwick, R.I.)  paired to win at No. 1 doubles and then won their respective singles matches as Rhode Island College defeated Castleton, 9-0, in Little East men's tennis action played at the Castleton Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC sophomore Michael Crawley (Manville, R.I.) and senior Michael Shea (Greenville, R.I.) earned a walkover win at No. 3 doubles.
 
• RIC freshman Josh Brien (Johnston, R.I.) and sophomore Peter Pond (Providence, R.I.) defeated CU freshman Alijah Seymour (Peru, Vt.) and Jason Lipscomb (Bristol, Conn.), 8-1 at No. 2 doubles.
 
• Bourque and Hoy defeated Connor Davis and sophomore Rowan Kidder (Jacksonville, Vt.), 8-0, at No. 1 doubles.
 
• Brien earned a walkover win at No. 6 singles.
 
• Sophomore Dylan Tashdjian (Riverside, R.I.) defeated Robles (6-2, 6-0) at No. 5 singles.

• Bourque defeated Kidder (6-0, 6-0) at No. 1 singles.
 
• Crawley defeated Davis (6-0, 6-1) at No. 2 singles.
 
• Hoy defeated Lipscomb (6-0, 6-1) at No. 3 singles.
 
• Freshman Jack Cadden (Mattapoisett, Mass.) defeated Seymour (6-1, 6-0) at No. 4 singles.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will close out the regular season with a Little East match at home vs. Southern Maine on Saturday, May 1 (1 p.m.).
