New London, Conn.—Senior Shayna Cousineau (Cranston, R.I.) finished first in the 10,000m (40:12.83) as the Rhode Island College women's outdoor track and field team opened the 2021 season at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
Rhode Island College finished third (three teams) with a team score of 9.0. Coast Guard finished first (115.0) and Southern Maine took second (51.0).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior Jamie Dobson (Bradford, R.I.) finished third in both the hammer (41.95m) and the javelin (29.72m).
