Gorham, Maine--Sophomore Max Blais (Smithfield, R.I.) and senior Michael Shea (Greenville, R.I.) picked up a win (8-1) at No. 2 doubles as the Rhode Island College men's tennis team defeated Southern Maine, 8-1, in Little East action played at Gorham High on Saturday afternoon.

• Blais and Shea defeated USM senior Shawn Gagnier (Lewiston, ME) and junior Jonathan Bartuccio-Pereira (St. Bruno, Quebec) (8-1) at No. 2 doubles.
 
• RIC senior Ethan Hoy (West Warwick, R.I.) and freshman Josh Brien (Johnston, R.I.) defeated the USM freshmen duo of Ethan Rudnicki (Levantine, ME) and Antoine Gignac (Quebec City, Quebec) (8-4) at No. 3 doubles.
 
• USM senior Adam Papayoanou (Valencia, Ca.) and freshman Cole Oullette (Lewiston, ME) defeated RIC junior Alex Bourque (North Smithfield, R.I.) and sophomore Michael Crawley (Manville, R.I.) (8-3) at No. 1 doubles as RIC headed into singles play up by one, 2-1.
