Willimantic, Conn.—Sophomore shortstop
Alexis LeBelle (Warwick, R.I.) went 3-for-6 with two doubles and one run scored as Rhode Island College team, 15-0 (five innings); 12-4 (six innings), in a pair of games at Eastern Connecticut on Tuesday afternoon at Clyde Washburne Softball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One
• The Warriors were on the board early and often as they saw three runners cross the plate to take an early, 3-0, lead in the bottom of the first.
• The second frame proved to be similar results for the hosts as they pushed across three more runs to take a commanding, 6-0, lead.
• As the Anchorwomen offense struggled to get anything going in the early stages of the game, the Warriors bats did not slow down.
• Eastern Connecticut was able to score nine more runs in the third inning, which enabled the Warriors to end the game early.
• The Anchorwomen were able to record their first hit in the top of the fifth inning with a single by freshman left fielder
Tatiana Burcy (Boston, Mass.), which ended the no-hit bid by junior pitcher
Carley Stoker (Sandy Creek, N.Y.).
• Stoker earned the win (3-0), allowing just two hits, while striking out seven, in five innings. RIC sophomore pitcher
Faith Turinese (Plainville, Mass.) suffered the loss (0-1).
Game Two
• The Anchorwomen offense had it going in the first inning, scoring three runs on four hits.
• Freshman first basemen
Katelyn Ashe (Colchester, Conn.) hit a single that scored both LeBelle and junior center fielder
Avery Katz (Brookfield, Conn.) to put the Anchorwomen ahead, 2-0, to open the game. Ashe later scored on a wild pitch to add another run.
• Katz tripled in her second at-bat of the game, scoring sophomore left fielder
Julie Vincent (Norwich, Conn.) to push the Anchorwomen ahead after two innings, 4-0.
• Eastern Connecticut put two runs up on the board in the home half of the third inning, which cut the RIC lead down to just two, 4-2.
• The Warriors bats came alive in the fourth inning, as they score five runs on five hits, and took a 7-4 lead.
• ECSU increased their lead in the bottom of the fifth as they added three runs on three hits and one error to go up by a commanding six runs, 10-4.
• Eastern Connecticut scored two more runs on a junior third basemen
Carolyn Biel (Wallingford, Conn.) double to put the game to rest early.
• Stoker came on in relief to pick up her second win of the day (4-0). She allowed just one hit and struck out six in 3.2 innings of work. Burcy suffered the loss (0-1).
BY THE NUMBERS
• Katz went 2-for-7 on the day with one RBI and one run scored.
• Ashe went 1-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored.
• Junior first basemen
Brooke Matyasovsky (Orange, Conn.) led the way for the Warriors, going 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in game one and 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI and two runs scored in the nightcap.
• Stoker also did here part offensively, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI and two runs scored.
