Boston, Mass.—Rhode Island College senior goalkeeper Charlie Tashjian (West Warwick, R.I.) had four saves as the Anchormen fell, 2-0, at UMass Boston in Little East men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• UMB senior forward Nilton de Andrade (Fogo, Cape Verde) beat Tashjian in the 14th minute for his 12th goal of the year. He was assisted by senior midfielder Cam Pattison (Cohasset, Mass.) and senior defender Leo Herreria (San Pedro Sula, Honduras).
 
• UMass Boston led in shots (5-2), shots on goal (3-1) and corner kicks (3-1) after the first 45 minutes of action.
 
• It was a defensive match all the way up until the 78th minute when a foul in the box allowed de Andrade to score his second goal of the night on a penalty kick.
 
• RIC applied pressure late, but a key stop by freshman goalkeeper J.J. Devine (Halifax, Mass.) in the 88th minute sealed the win and the shutout for the Beacons.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
• Tashjian took the loss (7-4).
 
• Devine made two stops in the win (6-2).
 
• UMass Boston held the advantage in shots (8-6) and shots on goal (6-2). The two teams each had five corner kicks.
