Rutland, Vt.--Rhode Island College junior Nate Chhim (Tiverton, R.I.) and Anthony Loiselle (Providence, R.I.) lead the Anchormen after the first round of action at the 2021 Little East Men's Golf Championship, hosted by Castleton at Rutland Country Club.
 
THE BASICS
• The Anchormen are currently in fourth (five teams) with a team score of 344.
 
• Eastern Connecticut is in first (297), followed by Castleton (313) and Southern Maine (320). Western Connecticut is in fifth (390).  
 
• Rutland Country Club is a par 70 and there are 24 golfers competing at the championship.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Chhim and Loiselle each carded an 83 (+13) to tie for 12^th overall.
 
• Junior Will Niles (Warwick, R.I.) is currently in 17^th place with an 86 (+16).
 
• Senior Matt Malo (Cranston, R.I.) is currently in 20^th place with a 92 (+22).
 
• Freshman Shane Mello (Somerset, Mass.) is currently in 21^st place with a 96 (+26).
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will tee off in the second round of the Little Championship tomorrow morning (8:30 a.m.) back at Rutland Country Club.
