Rhiannon Hodovanec (Feeding Hills, Mass.) picked up four service aces as Rhode Island College dropped a 3-0 match at Eastern Connecticut in Little East women's volleyball action on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Warriors held control from the opening serve, winning the first two sets handedly, 25-13 and 25-10. The Anchorwoman would not go down without a fight, however, but ultimately fell in a close third set, 25-21.

• Junior outside hitter
Amelia Murphy (North Attleboro, Mass.) led the Anchorwomen in both kills (eight) and digs (six). She also played well up front, blocking three attempts.

• Sophomore middle hitter
Angelly Polanco (Providence, R.I.) also played well on the front line, swatting away a match-high four to go along with a trio of kills.

• The setter duo of sophomore
Aubrey St. Onge (Tilton, N.H.) and freshman
Sydney Green (West Warwick, R.I.) combined for 17 assists, with nine and eight, respectively.

• Eastern Connecticut senior outside hitter
Abby Stern (Manchester, Conn.) registered a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs. She and Hodovanec each had a match-high four aces.

• Eastern Connecticut hit RIC .388 (42-9-85). The Anchorwomen hit .011% (21-20-87).
• Both squads had six service errors and six service aces.

WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East play at Southern Maine on Saturday, Oct. 16 (noon). The Anchorwomen will also face the University of New England (2 p.m.) as part of a tri-match.
