Plymouth, N.H.--Senior guard
Sophia Guerrier (Waltham, Mass.) led the way for the Anchorwomen with 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists as the Rhode Island College women's basketball team defeated Plymouth State, 73-43, in Little East action played at Foley Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen took control of the contest early when sophomore forward
Izabelle Booth (Newport, R.I.) sank a pair of free throws before the media timeout of the first quarter to put the visitor's up by nine, 11-2. RIC closed out the opening quarter leading by 11, 17-6.

• The Anchorwomen extended their lead to 15, 29-14, on a Booth jumper with 4:12 remaining before the half.

• Junior guard
Maire Gallagher (Worcester, Mass.) drilled a three ball as the clock expired to give the Anchorwomen a 14-point cushion, 38-24, heading into the halftime intermission.

• A pair of senior guard
Brooke Young (West Warwick, R.I.) three-pointers gave the Anchorwomen a 26 point lead, 50-24, three minutes into the second half.

• The Anchorwomen saw their lead increase to 32, 62-30, as sophomore guard
Maci Dorantes (Bristol, Conn.) connected on a three-pointer at the end of the third quarter.

• The Anchorwomen continued to roll as the fourth quarter progressed, increasing their lead to 40, 70-30, on a Guerrier layup with just over six minutes remaining.
• The Anchorwomen never trailed in the contest as they defeated the Panthers by a final margin of 30, 73-43, to earn their third Little East Conference victory of the season.

• Young finished the day with 12 points, one rebound and one assist. Junior forward
Willcia McBorrough (Providence, R.I.) contributed 12 points, five boards and a pair of assists.

• Gallagher ended the day with nine points, four rebounds and two assists. Booth added six points, four rebounds and two assists.

Jalen Cook (Bristol, Vt.) totaled a game-high 25 points and grabbed three rebounds.

• RIC shot 46.2 percent (30-for-65) from the field, 36.8 percent (7-for-19) from three-point territory and 50 percent (6-for-12) from the foul line.

• PSU shot 31.4 percent (16-for-51) from the field, 41.7 percent (5-for-12) from downtown and 75 percent (6-for-8) from the foul line.

• RIC outrebounded PSU, 41-35, and held an advantage in assists, 15-7.
