Box Score Providence, R.I.—Junior guard Sophia Guerrier (Waltham, MA) and freshman guard Maci Dorantes (Bristol, CT) each finished with 13 points to lead No. 2-seeded Rhode Island College past No. 3-seeded Castleton, 62-47, in the semifinals of the 2020 Little East Conference Women's Basketball Championship played at The Murray Center on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The hosts raced out to a 10-3 lead with 3:40 left in the first quarter as Guerrier and Dorantes each hit two three-pointers during the run.
• Two Castleton free throws by sophomore forward Olivia Perry (Woodstock, CT) sent the Spartans into the first intermission down by seven, 14-7.
• A layup by sophomore guard Maire Gallagher (Worcester, MA) gave the hosts a 10-point, 25-15, advantage with 4:47 left in the second quarter. Castleton went on a 9-3 run to climb within four, 28-24, but RIC answered with a 5-1 run to close out the first half to go up by eight, 33-25.
• RIC senior forward Fataya Larry (Brooklyn, NY) made a layup with 6:01 left in the third quarter to help the Anchorwomen go up by 12, 42-30. A Castleton layup from senior forward Emilee Bose (Enosburg Falls, VT) capped the quarter as RIC took a 49-40 lead into the final 10 minutes.
• A 7-0 run, paced by two Guerrier layups, put the game away in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter. Two Guerrier free throws gave the Anchorwomen their largest lead (18), 62-44, of the night with 1:35 left.
• Guerrier finished with 13 points, six boards, six assists and three steals. Senior guard Jordyn Gauvin (Fall River, MA) finished with eight points, five boards and a game-high eight assists. Larry registered seven points and seven boards.
• CU junior guard Brooke Raiche (Ira, VT) led the visitors with 12 points, while Bose scored 10. Sophomore forward Kylie Wright (Coventry, VT) finished with six points and a team-best eight rebounds.
BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC shot 42 percent (24-for-57) from the field, 46 percent (6-for-13) from three-point range and 57 percent (8-for-14) from the free throw line.
• Castleton shot 37 percent (15-for-41) from the field, 18 percent (2-for-11) from downtown and 83 percent (15-for-18) from the charity stripe.
• RIC outrebounded the Spartans, 62-47.
• It will mark the third appearance for RIC (2012, '14) in the Little East Championship Final.
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will await the outcome of tomorrow's No. 4-seeded UMass Boston vs. No. 1-seeded Eastern Connecticut semifinal contest. Should the Beacons upset the Warriors, RIC will host the title contest on Sunday, March 1. If the Warriors win, RIC will travel to Eastern Connecticut on Sunday.
