Box Score Providence, R.I.--Senior guard Jordyn Gauvin (Fall River, MA) led the Anchorwomen with 14 points, eight assists and six rebounds, as the Rhode Island College women's basketball team defeated Western Connecticut, 66-51, in their final Little East regular season game played at the Murray Center on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first quarter was back and forth as neither team was able to build much of a lead. On five occasions the score was even, but it was the visitors who held a 19-18 lead at the first intermission.
• The lead changed seven times over the course of the second quarter as the Anchorwomen took a two-point, 35-33, lead into the halftime intermission.
• RIC senior forward Fataya Larry (Brooklyn, NY) led all scorers with nine in the half and grabbed 11 boards.
• A pair of junior guard Brooke Young (West Warwick, RI) three-pointers pushed the RIC lead to eight points, 41-33, in the early stages of the third quarter.
• A junior guard Sophia Guerrier (Waltham, MA) steal and layup with two seconds left to play in the third gave the Anchorwomen an eight-point, 51-43, advantage headed into the final frame.
• RIC extended its lead to 16, 66-51, on a freshman forward Izabelle Booth (Newport, RI) layup with 1:33 remaining in the fourth as the Anchorwomen went on to earn their 13th Little East victory of the season.
• Young finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Larry ended the night with nine points and 15 boards. Guerrier chipped in 14 points, four rebounds, four steals and a pair of assists.
• WCSU freshman center Jasmine Caldwell (Mt. Vernon, NY) led the Colonials with 14 points and three boards.
• Gauvin and Larry were honored, along with their families, as part of Senior Night with a pre-game ceremony.
BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC shot 38 percent (27-for-72) from the field, 21 percent (5-for-24) from three-point range and 88 percent (7-for-8) from the foul line.
• WestConn shot 34 percent (21-for-62) from the field, 22 percent (4-for-18) from three-point range and 39 percent (5-for-13) from the foul line.
• RIC outrebounded WCSU, 50-43, and handed out 13 assists on the night.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play in the 2020 Little East Women's Basketball Championship, which begins on Feb. 25. The final seedings will be announced at the conclusion of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 22.
