Box Score Danbury, Conn.--Junior guard Sophia Guerrier (Waltham, MA) led the Anchorwomen with 21 points to go with four assists, three steals and three blocks as the Rhode Island College women's basketball team defeated Western Connecticut, 82-57, in Little East action played at Stephan Feldman Arena on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen jumped out to a quick start with a trey by Guerrier that sparked a 13-1 run to open the game.
• The Anchorwomen held their largest lead of 16, 20-4, with 3:39 remaining in the first quarter. RIC led, 22-10, going into the second frame.
• The second quarter was controlled by the Anchorwomen. Holding WC to only six points, RIC was able to pour in 22 points and take a 44-16 lead into the half.
• WestConn was able to outscore RIC in the third frame, 19-16, but the Anchorwomen led by 25 after three quarters of action, 60-35.
• The fourth quarter was smooth sailing for the Anchorwomen, as they increased their lead to as many as 28 points with 4:55 remaining after a layup by senior forward Fataya Larry (Brooklyn, NY).
• Larry finished with a 13-point, 15 rebound, double-double and rejected three shots. Sophomore center Willcia McBorrough (Providence, RI) recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds and two rejections.
• Senior guard Jordyn Gauvin (Fall River, MA) scored five points to go along with seven assists and five boards. Junior guard Brooke Young (West Warwick, RI) added seven points.
• WestConn senior guard Gabrielle Hulbert (Thomaston, CT) led the Colonials with 18 points to go along with four assists and three boards. Senior guard Genesis Torres (Stratford, CT) chipped in with 16 points.
BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC shot 57 percent (36-for-63) from the field, 43 percent (6-for14) from three-point range and 80 percent (4-for-5) from the foul line.
• WC shot 27 percent (18-for-66) from the field, 26 percent (5-for-19) from three-point territory and 62 percent (16-for-26) from the foul line.
• RIC dominated on the glass with a 50-30 advantage and outscored Western Connecticut, 52-2, in the paint.
