Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College improved to 5-0 on the season as the Anchorwomen picked up their fourth shutout of 2019 in a 9-0 victory over winless Suffolk on Wednesday afternoon at the RIC Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC juniors Emily Orticerio (Smithfield, RI) and Hailey Raskob (North Smithfield, RI) opened the day with a forfeit win at No. 3 doubles.

• RIC juniors Laurel Ten Eyck (Warwick, RI) and Grace Zangari (Saunderstown, RI) defeated sophomore Jordan Miller (East Longmeadow, MA) and freshman Bianca Prescott (East Granby, CT), 8-1, at No. 2 doubles.

• RIC sophomore Casey Burns (Westbrook, CT) and freshman Jenna Lisi (Cranston, RI) picked up an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles vs. Suffolk sophomores Ilda Ascic (Sarajevo, Bosnia) and Kendall Smith (Stuttgart, Germany).

• The Anchorwomen built a 4-0 lead when freshman Sarah Gonick (Kingston, MA) secured a forfeit win at No. 6 singles.

• Vittori defeated Blade (6-2, 6-1) at No. 5 singles to clinch the win.

• Burns defeated Ascic (6-0, 6-0) at No. 1 singles.

• Raskob defeated Prescott (6-0, 6-1) at No. 4 singles.

• Lisi defeated Smith (6-0, 6-0) at No. 2 singles.

• Zangari defeated Miller (6-0, 6-0) at No. 3 singles.
