Portsmouth, R.I.--Senior Jasper Bruins Slot (Scituate, R.I.) tied for third as Rhode Island College finished eighth (nine teams) at the Roger Williams' RWU Hawk Invitational on Sunday and Monday.
 
THE BASICS
• RIC finished eighth (nine teams) with a team score of 649 (334, 315; +85). Palm Beach State finished first with a team score of 607 (313, 294; +43).
 
• Round one was held at Green Valley Country Club, which was a par-71 and measured 6,641 yards. Round two was held at Aquidneck Golf Club, which was a par-70 and measured 6,335 yards.
 
• 53 golfers competed at the event.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bruins Slot tied for third with a two-day score of 150 (78, 72; +9).
 
• Junior Mike Decesare (Cranston, R.I.) carded a 165 (86, 79; +24).
 
• Freshman Brady Pongvongkeo (North Providence, R.I.) posted a score of 166 (84, 82; +25).
 
• Senior Kyle Cullen (Glocester, R.I.) registered a score of 168 (86, 82; +27).
 
• Junior Max Nasser (Middletown, R.I.) posted a score of 189 (98, 91; +48).
