Southwick, Mass.--Senior Jasper Bruins Slot (Scituate, R.I.) tied for second as Rhode Island College kicked off the spring portion of its schedule with a second place finish at the Elms Invitational played at The Ranch Golf Course on Friday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• RIC finished second (six teams) with a team score of 323 (+35). Albertus Magnus finished first with a team score of 316 (+28).
 
• 27 golfers competed at the invitational, which was a par-72 and measured 6,103 yards.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bruins Slot tied for second with a 77 (+5).
 
• Freshman Ryan Gervais (North Providence, R.I.) finished seventh with an 81 (+9)
 
• Freshman Brady Pongvongkeo (North Providence, R.I.) tied for eighth with an 82 (+10)
 
• Senior Kyle Cullen (Glocester, R.I.) tied for 11^th with an 83 (+11).
 
• Junior Mike Decesare (Cranston, R.I.) finished 15^th with an 86 (+14).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Roger Williams Invitational on Sunday and Monday, April 12-13.
