Pimentel Scores First Career Goal in, 4-1, Loss at Wesleyan

Middletown, Conn.--Freshman forward Sarah Pimentel (Cranston, R.I.) scored her first collegiate goal as Rhode Island College fell vs. Wesleyan, 4-1, in non-conference action played at Citrin Field on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Cardinals were off to a quick start as the hosts netted three goals within the first 15 minutes of action.
 
• The Anchorwomen then were able to find some opportunities when senior forward Tayshia Cary (Wakefield, R.I.) posted one of just two shots for the visitors in the opening 45 minutes.
 
• Freshman forward Sarah Pimentel (Cranston, R.I.) scored her first collegiate goal in the 57th minute to break up the Cardinals' shutout bid.
 
• However, Wesleyan put the Anchorwomen to bed with a last-minute strike in the 89th minute.
 
• Freshman goalkeeper Oceanna Orlandi (East Greenwich, R.I.) made five saves in the loss.

• Junior goalkeeper Nicole Nunes (Smithfield, R.I.) played the second half and made eight saves
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East play at Western Connecticut on Friday, Oct. 17 (6 p.m.).
