Rhode Island College

Mike Nauta begins his first season as an assistant baseball coach at Rhode Island College.

Nauta joins the RIC staff after working as a StatCast 3D operator for Major League Baseball. He also was a replay operator with the NBA.
 
"I'm excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the Rhode Island College baseball program,” Nauta said. “This is a place with a strong tradition and a clear vision for where it's headed and I can't wait to get to work with the staff and student-athletes to build on that success."
 
He was a four-year letterwinner at Ithaca as an infielder and outfielder where he batted .300 for his career. He was a member of Bomber teams that won the Liberty League twice, captured a pair of NCAA Regional Championships and made two appearances in the NCAA Super Regional. He was also named to the Liberty League All-Academic Team three times (2021-23).
 
He served as an assistant coach with the Cayuga Lakers and was an instructor at Prospects Baseball Academy (NJ).
 
Nauta earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ithaca in 2023.
