Anthony Muccioli begins his first year as the coordinator of recreation and fitness programs/strength coach.
“I'm excited to join the team here at Rhode Island College,” Muccioli said. “I'm looking forward to working with our varsity teams and helping elevate their performance to a whole new level. I'm also excited to provide fitness programs and initiatives for all of our students to support a well-rounded approach to their health and wellness.”
Muccioli joins the RIC staff after spending the past three years as the fitness center assistant/strength & conditioning coach at UMass Dartmouth. In addition to his fitness center duties, he worked with women’s volleyball, men's soccer, women's lacrosse, softball, track and field and assisted with baseball and football programs with the Corsairs.
Muccioli spent 2021-22 at Saint Anselm University, where he was a strength and conditioning intern for the Hawks' football, men's soccer, men's lacrosse and field hockey teams. Prior to Saint Anselm, Muccioli served as the Strength and Conditioning Intern at Fitchburg State University, where he worked with men's ice hockey, baseball, softball and men's cross country.
Muccioli has also spent time in the strength and conditioning field away from collegiate athletics. He coached at Veritas Performance Training in Nashua, N.H., First Fitness Management in Andover, Mass. and Dynamic Strength and Conditioning in Nashua.
A 2016 graduate of Fitchburg State with a bachelor of science in exercise science, Muccioli was a four-year member of the Falcons' basketball team.
He then went on to earn his master of science in exercise science from Merrimack College in 2021.
