Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at Gordon's Pop Crowell Invitational

Wenham, Mass.--Rhode Island College sophomore Shayna Cousineau (Cranston, RI) notched a third place finish (23:45.90) to lead the Anchorwomen to a fourth place finish at the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College on Saturday.

THE BASICS
• RIC finished in fourth place with 121.0 points, while the University of New England finished in first place with 30.0 points.

• There was a total of 16 teams and 152 runners competing at the event.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•  Senior Margaret McCaffrey (East Greenwich, RI) clocked in with a time of (24:30.20) to record an 11th place finish. Classmate Rebecca Meinertz (Smithfield, RI) finished 15th (24:50.40).

• Freshman Madisen Martin (Marion, MA) finished in 42nd place (26:24.3), while senior Laura Paiva (Coventry, RI) finished in 60th place (27:09.40).

•  Sophomore Bryana Mullin (Warwick, RI) registered a 98th place finish (29:06.6). Freshman Paula Slinko (Coventry, RI) rounded out the runners for the Anchorwomen, taking 134th (35:56.30).

BY THE NUMBERS
• The Anchorwomen had an average time of (25:19) over the 6K course.
