Worcester State Spoils Women's Volleyball's Season-Opener

Worcester, Mass.—The Rhode Island College women's volleyball team fell to Worcester State, 3-0 (30-28, 25-23, 25-12), in their season opener on Tuesday evening. Senior setter Jacqueline Jutras (Foster, RI) led the way for the Anchorwomen with 20 assists, five service aces, two kills and two assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Junior outside hitter Jenaeya Evans (Marietta, GA) had seven kills and six digs.

• Sophomore middle hitter Ashley Normandin (Blackstone, MA) and classmate outside hitter Amelia Murphy (North Attleboro, MA) each had five kills.

• Sophomore left side hitter Winter Conlon (East Walpole, MA) compiled 11 digs.

BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC hit -0.38 (24-27-79), while Worcester State hit .200 (23-9-70).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to Wesleyan on Friday, Sept. 6 (6 p.m.).
