Medford, Mass.-Several members of the Rhode Island College women's indoor track & field team competed at the Tufts National Qualifier on Saturday.
• There was no team scoring for the event that gave student-athletes an opportunity to improve on their qualifying times for the NCAA Div. III National Championship.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Freshman Chelsea Yang (Warwick, RI), the 2018 Little East Conference Women's Rookie Field Athlete of the Year, notched a third place finish in the weight throw (17.39m). She is currently ranked No. 7 nationally in the event.
• Junior Eleni Grammas (Cranston, RI) took fifth place in the 60m (7.91) and was seventh in the 200m (26.73).
• Junior Nicole Grammas (Cranston, RI) had a fourth place finish in the 400m (59.95).
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will find out its qualifiers to the NCAA Div. III National Championships on Monday.
