Women's Swimming Opens 2019-20 Season at Roger Williams Meet

Bristol, R.I.--Freshman Hillevi Esquilin (North Kingstown, RI) placed 10th in the 500-yard freestyle (6:04.37) as the Rhode Island College women's swimming team opened the 2019-20 season with a nine place finish at the Roger Williams Invitational on Saturday afternoon. 

THE BASICS
• RIC finished ninth (nine teams) with a team score of 18.0. Roger Williams won the meet with a score of 651.0. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
•Freshman Reegan Camire (Rochester, NH) placed 21st (2:27.47) in the 200-yard freestyle, 27th (1:39.72) in the 100-yard breaststroke and a 29th place (29.98) in the 50-yard freestyle.

•Freshman Abigayl Dion (Cumberland, RI) finished 21st (28.80) in the 50-yard freestyle, 24th (1:25.64) in the 100-yard breaststroke and 28th (1:04.26) in the 100-yard freestyle.

WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the University of Saint Joseph's Blue Jay Pentathlon on Friday, Oct. 25 (5 p.m.).
