Zach Ford Picks Up Lone Win in, 45-3, Loss to Nationally-Ranked Coast Guard

Providence, R.I.--Junior 157 lbs. Zach Ford (Flagler Beach, FL) picked up a 9-3 decision as the Rhode Island College wrestling team fell, 45-3, to nationally-ranked Coast Guard in a New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) match held at the Recreation Center on Wednesday evening.

• The Bears took a 12-0 advantage with forfeits at 125 and 133 lbs. to start the match.

• CGA increased its lead to 20-0 as sophomores JD Fitzpatrick (Kensington, MD) and Marco Dominguez (Tucson, AZ) each secured major decisions.

• Ford downed sophomore Patrick Moynihan (Portland, CT) at 157 lbs. for what proved to be the Anchormen's lone points of the evening.

• The Bears put the match away with a pair of first period pins as senior Adam Wilhelm (Dayton, OH) and freshman Phil Rogers (Delran, NJ) each recorded falls at 165 and 174 lbs., respectively.

• After a forfeit and a decision, junior Pat Irwin (El Dorado Hills, CA) picked up a major decision to close out the win for the visitors.
