Allison Barber begins her first season as an assistant women's volleyball coach at Rhode Island College. She assists Head Coach Jenn Cabral in all phases of the RIC women’s volleyball program.
 
“I am honored to be joining the RIC volleyball program and community,” Barber said. “I am incredibly excited to work alongside Jenn, the student-athletes, administration and the entire staff at RIC.”
 
“I am thrilled to have Allison coach along side of me at Rhode Island College,” Cabral said. “She brings valuable experience, knowledge and positivity to our team. We are fortunate to have her!”
 
Barber played five seasons of volleyball as a setter for Providence College. The Woodbury, Minn. native played in 133 matches and 472 sets during her career as a Friar. Barber totaled 4,471 assists, which ranks first all-time in program history. She served as a team captain from 2019-21. Barber made the Dean’s List seven times during her undergraduate career and was a Big East All-Academic Team selection.
 
Barber earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing, while minoring in sociology, from Providence in 2021. She is currently working on a master’s degree in business administration at Providence.
