Greg Lamanna begins his fifth season as an assistant softball coach at Rhode Island College. Lamanna assists Head Softball Coach Brian Claypool with all facets of the program including recruiting, scouting, administering practice and game coaching.

Lamanna came to RIC after serving at all three levels of NCAA softball, in addition to the junior college and high school ranks. He began his career in 1999 with Division III Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham before moving onto the County College of Morris where he served as Assistant Coach in 2000 and 2001 before being asked to take the reins as Head Coach for the 2002 season. After a season as the varsity assistant at Villa Walsh Academy, Lamanna served as an assistant coach for Division I Monmouth University where he assisted in all facets of the program, before moving to Wheaton College, Seton Hall University and Felician College. 

Lamanna earned an associate’s degree in business administration from the County College of Morris and a bachelor’s degree in history from Farleigh Dickinson. He also earned a master’s degree in athletic administration from Concordia University of California.

He resides in Mystic, Connecticut.
