Ramos and Aldana Earn Weekly Little East Men's Soccer Awards

Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College sophomore midfielder Brandon Ramos (Boston, MA) and freshman forward Thomas Aldana (Providence, RI) were recognized by the Little East for their respective performances in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.

Ramos was named the Little East Men's Soccer Player of the Week. It is the second time this season he has received this award. Ramos scored twice, including the game-winner, as RIC defeated Fitchburg State, 3-2, on Oct. 30. For the season, he has played in 17 games, starting 14 of them. Ramos has seven goals and two assists for 16 points.

Aldana was named the Little East Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week. It is the second time this season he has received this award. He had a goal and two assists in the win over Fitchburg State on Oct. 30. For the season, he has played in 17 games, starting 13 of them. Aldana has six goals and three assists for 15 points.

Head Coach John Mello's team is currently 9-6-2 and finished the regular season with a 5-2-1 (third place tie) in the Little East. RIC is the No. 3 seed for the Little East Championship. The Anchormen will host UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, Nov. 4 (6 p.m.).
