Late Goal Costs Men's Soccer in, 2-1, Loss to Roger Williams

Bristol, R.I.—Roger Williams score twice in the game's final 15 minutes to come from behind and defeat the Rhode Island College men's soccer team, 2-1, at the Roger Williams Invitational on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchormen took a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute when freshman forward Brandon Ramos (Boston, MA) scored. Senior midfielder Dennis Vazquez (Providence, RI) picked up the assist.

• The Anchormen went into halftime being outshot, 8-6, by the Hawks an RWU held a slight lead, 1-0, in corner kicks.

• The hosts evened the game in the 76th minute on sophomore midfielder Ryan Miller's (Hillsdale, NJ) unassisted tally. The game seem destined for overtime, but RWU junior midfielder Garrett Bolton (Candia, NH) scored, with sophomore midfielder Connor Edwards (Deerfield, MA) picking up the assist, with just 1:27 remaining in regulation.

• Sophomore goalkeeper Charlie Tashjian (West Warwick, RI) made nine saves in the loss (1-1) for the Anchormen. RWU junior goalkeeper Edmund Geschickter (Brookline, MA) stopped five RIC offerings in the win (2-0).

• Roger Williams outshot RIC, 15-8, in the second half and 23-14 for the game. The hosts held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
