Men’s Golf Currently Sits in 10th Place at RIC Invitational

Warwick, R.I.--Senior Mike Caparco (Johnston, RI) shot an 77, and is currently tied for 10th place, to lead the Rhode Island College men's golf team to a tie for 10th place (14 teams) after day one of the 2019 RIC Invitational, played at Valley Country Club on Friday.

• The Anchormen carded a 336, which was good for a tie for 10th place (14 teams). Johnson & Wales is currently in first place with a 310. 

• The par-72 Valley Country Club measures 6,458 yards.

• Junior Tyler Boisclair (West Warwick, RI) had an 83, and is currently tied for 36th place.

• Senior Victor Dumont (Riverside, RI) finished with an 87 and is in a tie for 53rd place. 

• Senior Valmore Dumont (Riverside, RI) and junior Matthew Butler (Johnston, RI) carded matching 89's, which is good for a tie for 58th place.

• RIC junior Matt Malo (Cranston, RI) had a 112 and is in 73rd place, while junior Evan Moore (Portsmouth, RI) shot a 87, which was good for an tie for 53rd on the day. Both golfers were competing as individuals.

• There are a total of 73 golfers at the event.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play in the second and final round of the RIC Invitational at Valley Country Club on Saturday, April 6 (1 p.m.).
