Oshkosh, Wisc.—Rhode Island College senior Allie DiBiase (North Kingstown, RI) earned All-American honors with a sixth place finish in the all-around at the 2019 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) National Championship, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday afternoon.
DiBiase is the first NCGA All-American for the program since Sajdah Ahmad earned that honor in 2001.
She finished sixth with a 37.150 point total. DiBiase tied for 11th on vault (9.600), was 33rd on bars (8.975) and tied for 34th on both beam (9.125) and floor (9.450). Her vault score was the third highest score in program history. DiBiase was making her third appearance at the National Championship (2017, ’16)
Senior Miranda Murphy (Lansdale, PA) finished ninth in the all-around, one place out of All-American status. It was her second trip to the NCGA National Championship (2017).
Murphy was 44th on vault (9.200), 39th on bars (8.800), 28th on beam (9.300) and 47th on floor (8.425) for a 35.725 point total.
Head Coach Monica Mesalles Nassi’s club finished the 2018-19 season with a 0-4 overall record and a sixth place finish at the 2019 NCGA East Regional Championship.
