Boston, Mass.--Senior setter Yuleisy Alvelo (San Juan, Puerto Rico) posted 12 assists and six digs as Rhode Island College fell at Emerson, 3-0, in the second game of a tri-match hosted by the Lions at Brown and Plofker Gym hosted by Emerson on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• A kill from sophomore right side hitter Jocelyn Sigouin-Adorno (Fall River, Mass.) and an attack error by the Lions in the first frame put RIC ahead, 18-15, but a pair of kills and a pair of aces by the hosts keyed five straight points to notch a 25-20 decision.
 
• Emerson continued its run and went ahead by eight, 20-12, in the second frame before the visitors sparked a comeback, but eventually fell, 25-20, to fall behind, 2-0.
 
• The Lions built a quick lead in the final stanza and never relinquished it as they would go on to handle RIC, 25-14.
 
• Senior outside hitter Sarina Marines (Cranston, R.I.) posted nine kills to lead the Anchorwomen offense.
