Anchormen Fall at Bridgewater State in Little East Championship Final

Bridgewater, Mass.--Sophomore Ethan Clegg (Chepachet, R.I.) won his team-best 12th singles match as No. 2 Rhode Island College lost at No. 1 Bridgewater State in the finals of the 2026 Little East Championship on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After losing two of three in the two clubs' regular season matchup, the Anchormen flipped the script by winning at No. 1 and 3 doubles to take a 1-0 lead to begin the match. Sophomores Travis Chartier (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Kyle Neuendorf (Attleboro, Mass.) won, 6-3, at the top spot.
 
• The Bears took four of six in singles play to win the championship. Clegg won in three sets at second singles and classmate James McShane (Riverside, R.I.) won in straight sets at fourth singles.
 
• RIC was making its fourth straight appearance in the conference tournament's final.
