Rhode Island College (5-1)
Suffolk (5-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Although they trailed after the opening inning, the Anchorwomen got aggressive in the second stanza and put three runs across on a pair of sacrifice plays and took the lead, 4-2.

• Senior second baseman Noelle Simmons (Goffstown, N.H.) started the scoring again in the top of the fourth frame with an RBI single.

• Senior center fielder Sophia Crudale (Cranston, R.I.) and sophomore shortstop Joey Meyer (South Milwaukee, Wis.) also both notched RBI singles to help RIC plate six runs in the inning and extended its lead, 10-2.

• The Anchorwomen pushed their lead to 10, 12-2, thanks to Meyer and Earley once again, but the Rams answered in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run homer to pull within seven, 12-5.

• Suffolk got one run back in both the sixth and seventh, but the deficit proved to be too much to overcome.

• Meyer went 1-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored.

• Freshman pitcher Mia Crudale (Cranston, R.I.) came on in relief to secure her third win (3-0).
