Throwers Kick Off the Outdoor Track and Field Campaign in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach, S.C.--Senior Brandon Mota (West Warwick, R.I.) finished seventh in the hammer (52.23m) as the Rhode Island College men's track and field team opened the 2026 outdoor campaign at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on Friday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• The Anchormen are currently in ninth place (10 teams) with a team score of 2.0. UConn is in the lead with a score of 18.0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Junior Enrique Edjang (Providence, R.I.) finished 10th in the hammer (50.62m).
 
• Senior Shamus Culhane (North Kingstown, R.I.) finished 12th in the weight throw (49.90m).

• Freshman Christian Briggs (West Warwick, R.I.) finished 15th in the weight throw (47.22m).
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete in day two of the 2026 Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on Friday, March 20.
