Smithfield, R.I.--Junior Andrew Frezza (Johnston, R.I.) finished 37^th (17:50.40) as the Rhode Island College men's cross country team finished seventh (seven teams) in the season opener at Bryant's Shawn M. Nassaney Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

• RIC finished seventh (seven teams) with a team score of 195.0. Stonehill won the meet with a team score of 17.0.

• Junior Giovani Monteiro (North Providence, R.I.) finished 57^th (18:49.10).
 
• Freshman Josh Valentine (East Greenwich, R.I.) finished 60^th (18:54.30).
 
• Junior Hussein Niyonkuru (Providence, R.I.) finished 61^st (19:17.40).

• Freshman Marcos Ruiz Uben (Westerly, R.I.) finished 68^th (20:07.60).
