Providence, R.I.—Sophomore Arianna DeThomas (Providence, R.I.), senior Erica Botelho (Greenville, R.I.) and freshman Faith Owren (Richmond, R.I.) all won with shutouts as Rhode Island College breezed by Western Connecticut, 7-0, at the RIC Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon.

• Botelho and sophomore Haylie Peacock (West Gardiner, Maine) secured a shutout at first doubles as RIC took all three in pairs action.
 
• Owren secured the team's decisive fourth point with a quick win at No. 5 singles.
 
• The match was completed in just under an hour and a half as the hosts lost just eight games on the day.
