HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE
• Young gave the Anchorwomen an early lead as she doubled up the middle to bring in a pair of runs.

• Freshman designated player Jillian Guilfoyle (Derby, Conn.) hit a double of her own in the first as Young came in to score giving RIC a 3-0 lead after one.

• Guilfoyle hit a sacrifice fly in the third, but the visitors would run out of gas as an eight-run sixth by the hosts quickly turned the contest around.

• The Anchorwomen failed to register a hit and got sat down in the seventh as the Corsairs erased a four-run deficit to take game one of the twinbill.

• Guilfoyle went 1-for-2 with a pair of RBI.

• Senior pitcher Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) took the loss (8-7).

GAME TWO
• UMD took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning with an RBI groundout.

• The Corsairs allowed just a pair of baserunners over the first three frames and added another two runs in both the third and fourth innings to build a 3-0 advantage.

• The Anchorwomen notched a pair of hits in the fifth, but were unable to capitalize, leaving runners on second and third, heading into the sixth.

• Despite a late two-out RBI double from junior second baseman Noelle Simmons (Goffstown, N.H.), the go-ahead run in senior shortstop Amanda Conti (Lincoln, R.I.) came to the plate, but UMD slammed the door once again as RIC fell in its third straight conference matchup.

• Sophomore pitcher Ashleigh von der Linden (Stratham, N.H.) took the loss (7-7).
