Ousmane Kourouma Earns NABC and D3hoops.com Accolades

Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College fifth-year forward Ousmane Kourouma (Woonsocket, R.I.) was named Second Team All-District 2 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and Second Team All-Region 2 by D3hoops.com for his performance during the 2024-25 season.
 
Kourouma was previously named the Little East Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Little East and to the league's All-Defensive Team.
 
He played in 25 games, starting all of them. Kourouma averaged 18.4 ppg, 15.8 rpg, 1.6 apg and 2.1 bpg. He scored in double figures 22 times and posted 21 double-doubles on the season. Kourouma hauled down his 1,000th career rebound, with a season-high 35 points and 18 boards, in RIC's, 73-71, loss at Worcester State on Nov. 8.
 
He scored his 1,000th career point one game later in the club's, 79-69, win at Johnson and Wales on Nov. 13. Kourouma is one of just four former Anchormen who have accumulated 1,000 or more career points and rebounds. He grabbed a season-high 22 rebounds to go along with 15 points in a 67-66 win over Keene State on Feb. 22.
 
Head Coach Sam Ferry's team finished the 2024-25 season with a 16-11 overall record and a 10-6 (third place) mark in the Little East.
