Springfield, Mass.—Junior 125 lbs. Robert Stone (Deer Park, N.Y.) finished third at 125 lbs. as Rhode Island College finished ninth at the 2025 New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Futures Tournament, hosted by Western New England on Sunday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• Rhode Island College finished ninth (16 teams) with a team score of 42.5. VTSU Castleton won the title with a team score of 147.0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Stone went 4-1 with a pin, technical fall, major decision and a decision on the day.
 
• Senior 141 lbs. Hunter Lundberg (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) went 3-2 with a major and two decisions.
 
• Junior 133 lbs. Brett Redner (Butler, N.J.) went 3-1 with a pair of pins.
 
• Junior 149 lbs. Jacob Duval (New Bedford, Mass.) went 2-2 with two pins.
 
• Freshman 197 lbs. Christian Sewell (Windsor, Conn.) went 2-2 with two decisions.
