Aidan Faria (Cumberland, R.I.) went 3-1 during the first day of competition at the 2025 Pete Willson Invitational, hosted by Wheaton (Ill.) on Friday afternoon.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Faria won his first two bouts with a pair of technical fall victories, before dropping a match to fall into the consolation bracket. He rebounded with a decision to stay alive to place at the tournament.
• Senior 125 lbs.
Fred Luchs (Belford, N.J.) is the only other Anchormen still alive in the tourney, posting a 2-1 record with a pin on day one. After two byes, Luchs won with a pin, before dropping his next bout to fall into the consolation bracket.
• Sophomore 184 lbs.
Anthony Fernandez (Nashua, N.H.) went 2-2 with a pin and a decision before bowing out.
• Senior 133 lbs.
Kwesi Amoa (Central Islip, N.Y.) went 3-2 with a major decision and a pin in his action on the day.
• Freshman 141 lbs.
Sebastian Armstrong (Coventry, R.I.) posted a 2-2 mark with a pin and a decision.
