Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College senior Brandon Mota (West Warwick, R.I.), junior Younton Doe (Pawtucket, R.I.) and freshman Christian Briggs (West Warwick, R.I.) were recognized by the Little East for their respective performances at Southern Connecticut's Art Kadish Elm City Challenge on Dec. 12-13.
Mota was named the Little East Men's Field Athlete of the Week. He finished third in the weight throw (16.74m).
Doe was named the Little East Men's Track Athlete of the Week. He finished first overall in the 4x400m relay (3:32.35) and fourth in the 400m (51.85).
Briggs was named the Little East Men's Rookie Field Athlete of the Week. He finished 13th in the weight throw (13.62m).
Head Coach Timothy Rudd's team finished tied for second (13 teams) with a team score of 51.0. Southern Connecticut won the meet with a team score of 222.5.
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Southern Maine Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 10 (Noon).
