Abby Wager (Mansfield, Mass.) posted a monster double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds as the Rhode Island College women's basketball defeated Johnson and Wales, 75-62, at The Murray Center on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Wildcats built a 10-point lead, 14-4, with three and a half minutes remaining in the first quarter until the hosts capitalized off missed shots and a pair of threes by Wager to bring the hosts' deficit down to two, 14-12, heading into the second quarter.

• RIC opened the second quarter on a 13-0 run as sophomore guard
Naima Bleou (Worcester, Mass.) knocked down a jumper to put the Anchorwomen ahead, 25-14.

• A strong second 10 minutes from the hosts put them way out in front going into halftime, 39-20, as the Wildcats struggled mightily from the floor.

• RIC outshot the Wildcats from the field in the third stanza, as the Anchorwomen converted on 50 percent (7-of-14) of their chances, while the visitors' shooting woes continued at 29 percent (5-17).

• The Wildcat press gave the Anchorwomen some trouble as JWU started to claw back into the game in the fourth quarter, but the deficit proved to be insurmountable.

• Wager also swatted away six shots for blocks in an amazing defensive effort.

Shalyn Smith (Middletown, Conn.) scored 12 to go along with seven rebounds to pace the Anchorwomen.
