Springfield, Mass.—Sophomore Arianna De Thomas (Providence, R.I.) won at first singles and No. 2 doubles as Rhode Island College registered its fifth shutout in a 7-0 win at Western New England on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC improved to 22-2 in doubles action with three victories in pairs competition. De Thomas and classmate Emilia Houwers (Whitewater, Wis.) notched a 6-0 shutout at No. 2 doubles.
 
• The visitors dominated in singles, especially at No. 2-5 where freshman Faith Owren (Richmond, R.I.) blanked her opponent (6-0, 6-0) and sophomore Hailey Peacock (West Gardiner Maine), senior Eric Botelho (Greenville, R.I.) and Houwers lost just one game apiece in straight set victories.
