Providence, R.I.--Rhode Island College clinched the outright Little East Regular Season Championship by downing UMass Boston, 5-2, in the regular season finale for both clubs at the RIC Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Following the match, seniors Erica Botelho (Greenville, R.I.) and Li hsiu Hou (Kingston, R.I.) were recognized, along with their families, as part of Senior Day.
 
• The Anchorwomen swept doubles, led by a decisive, 6-1, win at the top spot by Botelho and sophomore Haylie Peacock (West Gardiner, Maine).
 
• Sophomore Emilia Houwers (Whitewater, Wis.) clinched the win with a straight set (6-3, 6-4) win at fourth singles.
 
• Both Peacock and Botelho went 2-0 on the day.
 
• RIC has won at least a share of the LEC Regular Season Championship 14 times overall and in eight of the last 11 seasons.
